Welcome friends,
We’d like to take a moment today to mark the seventh anniversary of Jeff Healey‘s passing.
Jeff may be gone, but he is very much far from forgotten and his memory and legacy continue to grow with each passing day…
Over the past twelve months we’ve continued to hear how much Jeff has meant to you all, here and through Facebook… where we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming another *81,000* of you to our official page (and if you’re on Facebook and you haven’t yet, please pop over HERE and give us a like!) …and our Youtube channel has clocked in over 141,500 views!
It was with great pride this past October that we saw Jeff posthumously honored in an emotion filled ceremony with an induction into Canada’s Walk of Fame (…more on that HERE)…
Behind the scenes, we’ve been busy setting some exciting long-term projects in motion and in the short term, we will have some cool news for you *very* soon. We have some great stories lined up here on the site and some good stuff is on the way in the next few weeks… a cool radio show that’s been months in the works, a guest spot on rock legend Randy Bachman‘s new record, a Jazz Wizards reunion to help celebrate Jeff’s birthday later this month and much more as the weeks and months unfold. Please stay tuned, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Thank you all for your ongoing support. All your comments, ‘likes’ and wonderful emails make all of this worthwhile.
Be well,
Cristie Healey & Roger Costa
(Special Thanks to David Leyes for the great pic seen above…)
I can still remember seeing him at the House of Blues in Vegas like it was yesterday. This was before the barricade and you could lean on the stage. Stood in line 2hrs early just to stand at his feet. I’ve seen some great guitarists since that night but his performance is something I’ll never forget and still ranks at the top for me.
Was blessed to see him in Pittsburgh many years ago…We had front row seats and watching those incredible fingers on his guitar was just magic!! It was a gift to just watch him play but when he began to sing ..well it was just beautiful!
Thankfully we have the videos and the CDs to always have Jeff and his band’s to listen to and see a true talent for as long as we all keep his legacy alive.
Hey Rog, I submitted to the blog my feedback on watching JHB in Paris on 31st of December 1994 at the Chesterfield Cafe off the Champs Elysees in Paris. A relative of mine told me they found some footage of Jeff which I shot with one of the early video cameras then. It was on one of those mini video cassette, and I do not know what quality it is. I told my relative to get it converted to a video file format. I will let you know if it is worth publishing.
Thanks Pascal! We’d love to see it! ~Rog
Luv’d Bachman Turner OD…, sorry for the loss.

Jeff Healey is my favourite musician hands down! On the anniversary of his death I proclaim it Jeff Healey Day in my house and only Jeff Healey music can be played all day and night. I was fortunate to see Jeff about 4 times and loved each time. I particularly loved the concert at Coyotes in Thunder Bay when he released Get Me Some. My husband and I danced in front of the stage and had such a good time. I am still so sad that he is gone but his music is a legacy for us all. He will always be my favourite! Thank you for the great website and updates on his activities.
My how time flies. Thank You for the updates. Looking forward to them.
I was lucky to have seen the master play many times in Montreal !!! The late 80’s early 90’s was a great time for Blues/Rock music …and Jeff healey was at the top !!!
Rest on peace my friend !!!
Since the movie Roadhouse I have loved this mans music. His sound is unmistakable! Condolences to everyone for the loss of this fine man.
Jeff will live forever, what a musician.
“Angel Eyes” always makes me cry 🙁
I have few heroes but you are one of them. Rest In Peace JEFF
Jeff was one of the VERY best blues guitarists there has EVER been!! His music will live on forever! ♡
Can anyone tell me the date of his last southern California show? Small venue.. not a huge concert. Thanks..
Sorry Jenn, we don’t have that info. We’ll try and find out for you though. ~Rog
I was dumbfounded here in the UK that this wasn’t news that Jeff had passed and a little angry that an absolute star was not told to his fans here. I only found out two nights ago. Bless Jeff xx
Hi Rog,
In the bonus section of the movie Road House, JH states that he recorded 40 tracks for the movie. Is this material available anywhere? That short piece of White Room in the movie is awesome but it’s not on the soundtrack and I’ve not heard that version anywhere else.
Keeping fingers crossed.
thanks,
Dave
Hey Dave!
Not yet. It’s a request we get all the time. There are a dozen songs in the movie, and only 4 on the soundtrack…
All we can say, is that we appreciate your patience and if there’s anything to report, you’ll hear it here first!
Rog
The ‘Jeff Healey Band’…blows me away. Will never part with the CD’s. Proud Canadian loving Canadian rock/blues music. Jeff Healey is second to none.
Saw Jeff open for ZZ Top back in 1990, I’ll never forget how blown away I was at his talent. I didn’t know until a few minutes ago that he’d passed away. So sorry for his family and friends. Xoxo

Have been luckey enough to see Jeff in 3 of his buffalo NY appearances all I can say is rest in peace You were the best to ever be or will be play on for ever
I’m watching roadhouse right now! and greatly miss Jeff what a talent. It’s cool to see he’s known as a Canadian treasure.
