Hello all!
Here, for your viewing pleasure, is a serious blast from the past – the first video Jeff Healey ever did for the single that started it all. It was the indie release double ‘A’ side Adrianna (backed with the original version of See The Light – which was re-recorded for their major label debut).
Jeff had just turned 20 and the vid for Adrianna was a silly, no-budget affair that gave the band the experience they needed to knock it out of the park with their follow-up, the Alan Resnick directed B&W video for See The Light – the vid that would prove instrumental to securing them a major record deal…
Written by Jeff, Adrianna, was a staple of the early Jeff Healey Band shows, but they stopped performing it around the time of their first Arista Records album.
Adrianna has yet to be released on CD.
(Quick note: the on-screen credit says 1982, but the video is actually from *1986*.)
Much thanks to the original uploader.
Enjoy!

Yes! One of may all-time favorites of JHB (song, not the goofy video 🙂 I got my copy as a 45 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver if I remember correctly. 1989 was it? Still one of my favorite shows I’ve ever been to.
Years later I saw JHB again in Gastown and I was yelling for him to play Adrianna. Eventually he heard me and I guess to shut me up he said “We don’t play that one anymore.” PIty, cause that solo kills 🙂
I was in college for video production in ‘86, Sheridan Oakville, and one of my classmates knew Jeff. He came in to our studio and we shot some version of this video/song. Not sure if this is all different material, I saw at least one shot that could have been ours on a green screen (did we shoot them on green screen? Can’t remember. Maybe?) But I love that I “worked” with Jeff just as he was becoming a thing! And I love telling this story to every Adrianna I meet!
RIP Jeff, I’m glad I met you! And thanks for all the great music!
