“I think that the energy in my shows comes from the fact that I enjoy playing so much. You can not expect the audience to enjoy themselves unless you show them you’re having a good time too…” – Jeff Healey – Feb. 1989 – ‘Pulse’
Hello Beautiful People!
A special treat for you today folks… We’re very pleased to present this spectacular recording from June 6th, 1989 of Jeff performing at the ‘Boulder’s Coast‘ club in Boulder, Colorado, U.S. of A.
It had been a busy year for Jeff; The Fall of 1988 saw the release of the Jeff Healey Band’s Arista Records debut, ‘See The Light‘, they’d appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson; they had successful tours throughout Europe, received a Grammy nomination and by June 1989, they were back touring, hot on the heels of the cult favourite Patrick Swayze vehicle, ‘Road House‘ (which had hit theaters just a couple of weeks earlier).
This show was originally broadcast live back in ’89 by the fine folks a KBCO-FM and has been making the rounds as a bootleg since the late 80’s. Now it’s up on Youtube for everyone to enjoy.
(a special thanks to Philippe Huleux for sharing this with the rest of the class…)
Enjoy!
~Rog
