Welcome everyone! Today we want to take a beat to remember Jeff Healey on what would have been his 59th birthday. Fifty-Nine. Jeez, how did that happen? The years seem to fly by. It feels like it was only yesterday we were celebrating, and ribbing Jeff about his 40th Birthday…
Today however, isn’t a day to be maudlin. We are here to celebrate a life, and to remember.
This past Sunday, a group of 20-some-odd friends, family, and bandmates gathered together to do just that. It’s become a wonderful, annual tradition, that began back in 2008, the year we lost Jeff.
It was only a few weeks after his passing. The funeral had come and gone. Many of us felt a stunned contradictory mix of denial and acceptance buried in the weight of sadness… and we pushed it aside to focus on planning and preparation for what would end up being two epic memorial shows. What we hoped would be a fitting send off for our friend. Two days, 12 hours of music, dozens of performers from around the globe, thousands of fans… But that as they say, is another story.

Back on March 25th, 2008, however, there was a much smaller gathering. It was the anniversary of Jeff’s birth, the first since he left us. He should have been turning 42. There were just two of us that day. Myself and Jeff’s longtime friend, bandmate and de facto brother, Rob Quail. Somewhere along the way, the two of us had decided that a drink (or three) was in order to help celebrate Jeff’s birthday. There were a lot of stories that night, a lot of laughs, and maybe a few tears. Jeff would have loved it.
Every year since, Jeff has been bringing us back together on his birthday. Some years, there were only a handful of us. Other years there’s been many more. And, as always, those who couldn’t be there in person, were certainly there in spirit. Glasses were raised, love was shared, and as always, there was much laughter…

Next year marks what would have been Jeff’s 60th birthday. And we have some special things planned to help celebrate…
There will be a live show, There will be some fresh tunes. And we’ve decided that the release of the official documentary, ‘SEE THE LIGHT: The Jeff Healey Story‘, would be a fitting part of what will be a year-long Jeff Healey Celebration… 2026 baby! It ain’t that far off…
And speaking of the doc, many of you have been asking where we’re at in the production. Consequently, I feel as though I need to apologize for the non-update updates over the last year. Lol. We’re just trying to avoid spilling all the beans until the time is right… 🙂
I can tell you that we took advantage of some last minute availabilities and wound up filming right into December. We now have a whopping *50* interviews in the can… from celebs, to family, friends, bandmates and industry folks…
Also, we’re excitedly continuing to build our team for all the editing and post-production work (which will get underway in the next few months). The depth of talent that has come on board so far has truly left us humbled…
Honestly, it’s a case of, if we can’t make it as great as possible, then for us, there’s just no point in doing it at all. Full stop. There is some really awesome stuff planned and it’s going to be pretty damned special. Trust me peeps, it is going to be so worth the wait.
Meanwhile, we are pleased to share the latest teaser poster for the film. Hope you dig it!

Happy Birthday Jeff …I didn’t know you personally, but I remember going to your gig back in the early nineties in Seattle … you were amazing… it woulda been cool to hang out with you, but apparently you’re kickn’ it up in Heaven with Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, and all the other greats …keep on rockn’ man, like you always did ❤️❤️❤️
I was doom scrolling YouTube tonight when I came across a short of him and SRV maybe a half hour ago. I had no idea it was his birthday today.
Happy birthday Jeff! Wish I could’ve seen you live. I’m sure you would’ve written many more amazing songs. Rest in peace.
To Quote the great S.R.V. ‘Life Without You’, Happy Birthday that is wherever you are now Jeff. Strength to you and Family, Friends, Fans & Play it Loud! Up to 2026!

Happy birthday, Jeff was part of my transition from grunch rock to the blues back in 90’s.
Also one of the first song I played in band was Lost In Your Eyes.
Will post soon the gear of Jeff that I had the suprise to see in a Hard rock coffee Prage early this year on the blues Stage.
