Hello my Beautiful People!
A quick one today to wish you all the best this holiday season and give you a brief heads-up on what’s been happening of late.
It’s been over a year now since we re-launched this site with an eye to shining a fresh spotlight on Jeff’s life and musical legacy. We’ve had a wildly succesful 2013 and now the time has come to bring it all into greater focus for “phase II”.
Seriously good changes are comin’ down the pipe my friends.
The insanely talented Trista DeVries of Magpie Design (along with equally talented designer, Lorie Guillemet – who is responsible for our new, streamlined logo featured above in the title graphic) is working away behind the scenes on a fresh revamp/redesign of the entire site to serve you better. We’ll be back stronger and sassier than ever in just a few short weeks. In the meantime, you may have noticed that some parts of the site are not accessible at the moment… mainly our galleries (photo and video) and Album Guides (which include singles and sessions as well). This too shall pass. All these and more will return soon, better than ever.
We have some killer new content planned for the coming year as well; Some great articles are in the works (including a story about the precursor to the JHB, ‘Blue Direction‘) and some fantastic Guest Blogs! We can’t let the cat out of the bag yet, but you won’t be disappointed!
Oh and don’t forget to check back regularly for news and updates on some exciting new projects we have in the works for 2014!
In the meantime, while you’re waiting, here’s some fresh coolness to see you through…
First off, here is some Christmas blues for y’all. JH, live in Amsterdam 1988… ‘Good Morning Blues‘.(With thanks to László Kaszás!) Dig!
…And here’s a cool pic of Jeff live in early 1990 – © Dee Lippingwell (… and for more info on Dee, please check HERE)
Once again, from all of us here at JH headquarters, we’d like to wish you all fantastic and safe holiday folks! Make it a great one!
Be seein’ you again real soon!
Rog
Change is Comin’ .. L@@kin’ good, Merry Christmas, Peace and Cheers to All…
Been a big time fan from the time I saw Road house. Crazy about his guitar style.
Keep up the good work.
Ol Country (I know heck of a nick name for a guy that likes Blues & Rock)
Looking forward to seeing the new site Rog – keep up the great work and Merry Christmas to all our buddies!
Thanks Rog and all the cast. Happy 2014 and remember that in Aug. we will have 5 weekends in a row of.Fri. Sat. Sun.
I am a former guitarist/singer with my band “Ball & Chain” Started at age 15 and finally stopped playing in clubs at age 67. Point is…I know a little about the music biz and I know good music when I hear/see it. Jeff Healey was a credit to the industry and a consummate professional. He put every ounce of his soul into each and every song he did and I for one adored watching and listening to him. May god Bless you for keeping this site up. A lot of love there!!!!
Thanks, Bill Haight
Thanks for your support Bill! It is truly appreciated. As we have said here many times, fans such as yourself make all of this worthwhile…
All the best in the new year!
~Rog
In 1988 or 1989 a friend of mine said he’d seen a video of this guitar player in a wheelchair (sic), who was just totally amazing. A bit later said guitar player was playing the Batschkapp in Frankfurt, Germany, the same night as Ry Cooder was playing a different venue in Frankfurt. I gave up my Cooder ticket to go see Jeff (for the first time). It was a packed house. Jeff had people floored from the first note. One of the most amazing and memorable concert experiences in my life! I called my friend the next day to tell him what an incredible show he had missed.
